I know people have done similar with hardwired setup with AIM 2 DL + Smart圜am. CAN gives wheel speeds, steering angle, and a bunch of other stuff aside from brake. At sixty grand fully equipped, you can think of the Pro-4X as a poor man’s F-150 Raptor or a rich man’s F-150 STX, your pick. Pic below is before hardwiring cam and adjusting cameras, just testing the scene out. We used it to drill some mounting holes for an AIM Solo 2 display in my Radical’s steering wheel the drill spun eagerly. Have not had a chance to try with GT4, that's later this month. No starting cameras, worrying about turning things on, post processing videos.

Now all I need to do is pop out the SD car, look at data, pop in a new car. Used it for a few years, then went to an Aim Solo DL for a couple years, then stepped up to the Catalyst about 2 years ago. Solo 2 can manage two types of races: Speed races in a closed circuit Performance tests (0-100 km/h etc.) In each of these configurations, Solo 2 gives the proper information during the test and powerful data review immediately after each session. I ran this setup on my Cayman S without CAN, on GT4 added CAN and hardwired power, had my shop run the cables cleanly so they're mostly not visible. Big spend (for me), but super glad I did it. Found it becoming such a nuisance to both start everything, manage SD cards and batteries, and generate the videos after that more often than not I wouldn't even bother recording.įinally figured if I was going to be doing this long term, data + telemetry was worth it, especially as I've started doing virtual data coaching. I tried RaceChrono this time but I think Im going to try TrackAddict next track day since RaceChrono charges if you want to export the data from your phone.
AIM SOLO 2 RACERENDER PLUS
Then wanted 2 camera setup, so switched to TrackAddict + 2 GoPros, plus Racerender to create the vids. Phone 2 (old and obsolete) mounted on the windshield connected to the external GPS running at 10hz collecting G-Force and positional data for really accurate lap times and racing lines.
